Disclaimer & Legal Terms

Please read this Disclaimer carefully before using our website, downloading packages, or using the BSPSource decompiler tool. By continuing to use this site, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Non-Affiliation & Trademark Notice

Clarification of independent site ownership and recognition of third-party intellectual property.

Independent Third-Party Portal

This website is an independent third-party resource hub and software mirror platform. We are not affiliated with, associated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Valve Corporation, or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates.

Trademark Ownership Acknowledgement

All product and company names, logos, brands, and registered trademarks mentioned on this website are the property of their respective trademark holders. Reference to or use of these trademarks does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement by the trademark holders.

Valve Trademarks: Valve, the Valve logo, Source, the Source logo, Valve Hammer Editor, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Team Fortress, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life, and Day of Defeat are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation. Garry’s Mod is a registered trademark of Facepunch Studios Ltd.

Software Authorship

BSPSource is an open-source software project originally created by developer Ata4 and maintained by open-source community contributors on GitHub. We do not claim ownership of the BSPSource source code or core binary builds.

2. Software “As-Is” & Limitation of Liability

Standard open-source warranty exclusion and data risk disclaimers.

Provided “As Is” Without Warranty

All software packages, binaries, documentation, and tools provided on this site are distributed on an “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Dedecompilation Risk & Map Data Safety

Reversing compiled binary map formats (.bsp) back to editable format (.vmf) involves complex heuristics. BSPSource may not produce 100% accurate rebuilds for modified, encrypted, or corrupted map files.

Users are strongly advised to keep independent backups of their map project files. We are not responsible for incomplete VMF reconstructions, missing brush entities, texture corruption, or Hammer Editor crashes resulting from decompiled files.

Limitation of Damages

In no event shall the website operators, owners, or open-source contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including data loss, computer system errors, or business interruption) arising in any way out of the use of this software or website.

Amendments & Updates to This Disclaimer

We reserve the right to modify, update, or amend this Disclaimer at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated modification date. Your continued use of the website following any changes constitutes your formal acceptance of the revised terms.
